Participants will have the opportunity to see marine megafauna such as multiple species of sharks, sperm whales, dwarf sperm whales, sea turtles, and more!
Course participants will first meet in Miami, Florida, then fly using a commercial airline to Cap-Haïtien International Airport in the north of Haiti. From the airport, participants will get on the boat at a beach located at the end of the airport runway on the same day of landing. From there, the boat will go around the western peninsula and south to the field site of the Haiti Ocean Project.
There will be opportunities to snorkeling and diving. Additionally, there will be a option to get a dive certification(not included in program fee). Participants who already have a dive certification will need to submit proof.
This program is part of the collaboration between MCERC and the Haiti Ocean Project.
Requirements
- Completion and submission of all forms. Links included in the "Curriculum" section.
- Non refundable program fee submitted after reviewing all forms.
- Enrollment is not complete until required forms are completed, initialed, signed, and uploaded after the program fee is submitted.
- Participants must have and provide proof of travel insurance, including evacuation for medical emergencies.
- Participants must review visa and travel requirements for Haiti and upload a picture of their passport in the curriculum.
- Upload of flight information to and from Miami.
